Schedule overrides and cancellations

Modify future class schedule dates safely while preserving publication status and notifications.

Portal path Dashboard Academic Operations Schedule Overrides

Schedule overrides are designed for future events. The portal prevents a user from changing a class event that has already passed or already started today.

Before you begin

  • Campus Admin has permission for the relevant campus and schedule.
  • Confirm the date and time before submitting an override.

Select only future occurrences and confirm the final status

  1. Select the override action

Open the schedule override workflow and choose the action, such as cancellation or moving the event. Select only the dates that should be affected.

  2. Respect the time boundary

Past dates are rejected. A date today is also rejected when that event's scheduled start time has passed. Choose future dates and submit again if the selection contains any event that is no longer in the future.

  3. Review the resulting status

If every remaining occurrence is cancelled, the schedule is shown as cancelled with the red status badge. If at least one occurrence remains, the schedule stays Published.

  4. Notify participants

The existing email notifications remain in place. Calendar cancellation messages are sent as cancellation events so supported calendar applications can remove the affected occurrence.

Past events are immutable

Do not include a past date or a today event whose start time has passed. The server validates this rule even if the browser selection is manipulated.

Recommended next step

Use the schedule list to verify the status and review the notification history after saving.
