Configure Grading, GPA, and CGPA

Create versioned grade ranges and choose fixed or proportional grade-point calculation with GPA and CGPA rules.

Complete the task

  1. Create a grading version

Select New Version, enter the scheme name, and keep it as a draft while configuring.

  2. Define grade ranges

Add grade labels, From and To percentages, Pass or Fail result, grade points, and whether each band is included in GPA.

  3. Choose the GPA model

Use Fixed when every result in a grade band receives the same grade point. Use Proportional when grade points should vary within the configured range.

  4. Configure GPA and CGPA

Review the scale, credit-hour weighting, decimal precision, repeat handling, and cumulative rules in their respective tabs.

  5. Save the draft

Incomplete ranges may be saved progressively. Draft changes do not affect calculations.

  6. Activate the version

Define continuous 0% to 100% coverage without gaps or invalid overlaps, choose the effective date, and activate.

Activation is stricter than draft saving

A draft can be incomplete, but activation requires the complete 0%–100% scale and valid GPA/CGPA configuration.

Versioning protects history

New policies are created as versions. Activation controls when a version becomes effective, allowing historical results to remain tied to the policy that applied at the time.
