Classroom Display

Classroom display schedules and examinations

Configure a wall display outside a classroom to show that room's daily class schedule and examination schedule.

Portal path Campus Admin Administration Classroom Display

Classroom Display is designed for a screen installed outside a classroom. It shows the selected classroom's schedule for the current day, including both regular classroom sessions and examinations assigned to that classroom.

The display is locked to prevent someone using the screen from browsing the rest of the portal. Only a Campus Admin can configure or unlock it.

Before you begin

  • Campus Admin must know the classroom code before configuring the screen. Do not share the Campus Admin password with anyone operating the screen.

Install and verify the classroom screen

  1. Open Classroom Display

Sign in as a Campus Admin and open Administration > Classroom Display. The page is restricted to Campus Admin accounts with assigned campus access.

  2. Find the classroom code

Open Administration > Manage Classrooms. In the classroom table, locate the Code column. Hover over the code and select the copy icon to copy it to the clipboard.

  3. Enter the code

Return to Classroom Display, open the Classroom Selection panel if necessary, enter the classroom code, and select Show Schedule.

  4. Install the screen

Leave the page open on the screen outside the classroom. The page remembers the last classroom code in that browser and reloads the day's information automatically.

A screen is tied to one classroom at a time

If a screen is moved to another classroom, return to the selection panel and enter the new classroom code. The server still verifies that the Campus Admin is allowed to view that classroom campus.

Who can access the display page

Only a signed-in Campus Admin can open the display page. The account must belong to the institution and have access to the classroom's campus.

Other roles are rejected by the server-side authorization check, even if they know the page URL.

What the screen displays

The display shows the classroom name, the current date in campus-set date format, each scheduled time range, subject, class or section, and faculty information.

Regular class sessions are shown as classroom schedule entries. Examination entries are marked with an Exam label and include the examination title and subject information.

The building name is intentionally omitted because the screen is installed outside the classroom and the building is already known to people viewing it.

Availability and countdown

The top-right status shows whether the classroom is currently available or occupied. When the room is available until the next scheduled class or examination, the green status counts down second by second. When an event is in progress, the status shows when the classroom will become available again.

The countdown uses the classroom campus timezone, so the displayed status follows the institution's configured campus time.

Updates and refresh behavior

The display refreshes its data every 30 seconds. When the WebSocket service is configured and running, schedule changes can also trigger an immediate refresh. If WebSockets are unavailable, the 30-second polling fallback continues to keep the screen updated.

Changes to classroom schedules, moved or cancelled schedule exceptions, and examination venue allocations are reflected after the next update request.

Leaving display mode

While display mode is active, direct navigation to other education pages, opening another education page in a new tab or window, and logout are redirected back to Classroom Display.

Select Back to dashboard, enter the signed-in Campus Admin's password, and select Continue. A successful password check unlocks the session and returns the user to Dashboard.

Recommended next step

Create a test class or examination entry for today, verify its time and classroom assignment, and confirm that the screen displays the entry and countdown correctly.
